The Broker Vets Football Club was formed and joined the Southend Borough Comination Veterans League at the start of the 1996/97 season. The team was cobbled together from the patrons of the bar at that time.
We have had numerous managers from that time to the present day, Alan Gloyne our patron included.
The Broker Vets had their most successful season in 07/08 when they reached the final of the Division 4 League Cup. They unfortunately lost 2-1 on the night to Sutton Sports. In that same season they were also promoted to the 3rd Division where they currently hold 8th position. The inclement weather this season has dramatically hit the clubs fixtures and as of the 2nd week of February 2009 they have only played 5 league games.
The club is always looking for new talent so if you are a budding vet footballer (over 36 ), fancy signing on pop into The Broker and pick up a signing on form. If you have played any organised football in the last 5 years we will need a clearance form from your old club.
