Since opening The Broker has supported local Charities. Through a mixture of fund-raising events and the 'Penny' jar at the bar, over the years in excess of £60,000.00 has been raised which has been distributed between both children's and adult charities.
The Charity The Broker is supporting at present is the local MacMillan Cancer Support. This organisations work is essential for people in the local community suffering from all forms of cancer. It is not only patients who live with cancer, so their assistance reaches out to carers, families and the communities affected by this wicked illness which has touched most people’s lives.
Please support the Charity events held at The Broker. A great deal of very time consuming effort is put into event organisation by the proprietors, staff and other volunteers and it is always appreciated when it is seen that participants not only enjoy themselves but have helped our Charity coffers grow.
If you have an idea for a Charity event or you have time to help in the organisation of such an event, please do not hesitate to speak to any member of staff and they will ensure you are pointed in the right direction.

Martin Peters the former West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur & England player recently appeared at The Broker Freehouse to accept a £10,000 cheque representing money raised by the pub for the local Prostate Cancer trust.
